In the 1700s the architect Torreggiani restructured the palazzo giving the façade a very elegant appearance with very tall windows but the sixteenth-century portico was retained.

The Palace

The Palace, dating from the Renaissance and built in the first half of the 16th century (the date 1544 appears on the capitals), is located at Via Galliera. No. 4 in the centre of Bologna, just a few steps from Piazza Maggiore and the Two Towers.

It is very close to the museums and monuments of historical and artistic interest.

It portrays a scene taken from the poem Orlando Furioso in which the sorceress Alcina makes all travellers, including Ruggero, welcome in her Palace. A place where guests spend happy, unforgettable days…
